material editor question

material editor question

Postby Sage1969 » 24 May 2020, 04:07

My material editor keeps changing all previous models to the new object material I am working with?
It was working fine earlier could I have changed a setting?

hmm, changing a material that is assigned to multiple meshes will change the material across all.
Duplicate the material if you want to set it with different settings.

Also remember that using a material from a library(Asset Library, System Library or whatever other ones you have added) and added to the resource lists means that the material can have the same name in different folders, but if the material is from outside an editor library then it will fall into the global group meaning there could only be a material of that name once.

If this is not the answer, could you upload a video so we can see what your doing and then we will be able to either point out what is wrong or plan a fix for the new version.

Yes to video if needed but I think I see the multiple folder issue is it.

Not quite sure why but during conversion files all obtained the tag of "default", same in all folders but figured I would make do.

Thanks :D
