Downloaded 2 items (free) from store but neither are recognised by Skyline or any other software. Am I missing something?
Theres no file extension.

You can just rename them with a .zip extension...They are just .zip files...I had the same problem...I haven't tried it, but I think they could be unzipped without renaming....Hope this helps...CO

Ok I imported the item (fern_pack) but it has no texture on it. The textures are in the same folder with a material file called fougerdefault

I made you a written tutorial on how to setup the fern...The model is not mine, I just wanted to help you out...I am not real good at tutorials...I hope this is all correct..If not, I'm sure SolarPortal can clear up any mistakes I might have made...I hope this helps you out...CO

You can drag the Fern into a scene from the Asset Manager and then add the Material to it by dragging it onto the Fern.
If the model shall use the material by default (which I assume), then you can use the Properties Panel on the right, click on the third icon (that with red, yellow and blue dots) and then use "Bake to Mesh File". This will change the Model on your Harddisk -- the Material will be used in the Future (and I assume everytime you click "Reset to default")

yes, this is the case as it is baked to the mesh file on hard drive and overwrites the materials written in the mesh file with the new nam, thus becoming the new defaults for that mesh :)
