Postby epsilonion » 07 Sep 2015, 00:17

Introduction.
As requested a template for Splash Screens.

Many games have 3 or 4 splash screens, such as Intel, nvidia, There company, a publishing company, bought in assets company, to display a warning about a game been in ALPHA/BETA and the list goes on.

In this demo scene we have 3 splash screen loaded in with a pause between them, after it has finished it then loads the menu GUI.

You can find a Text Tutorial on the document server

A text tutorial version of the splash screens listed above can be found HERE

  • Changing the splash screens - Open the GUI editor and navigate to your projects GUI folder, here you will find a folder called splash screens simply replace the PNG files with your own that you want as your spash screens.
  • Change the delay timer - Open up the splashscreen Scene file, right click in the editor and open LUA - Scene Script and change the values 4000, 10000 and 16000 to what ever you require of the following lines:

time.startMultiTimer(1,obj,4000);
time.startMultiTimer(2,obj,10000);
time.startMultiTimer(3,obj,16000);

  • Changing what Scene to load next - Open up the splashscreen Scene file, right click in the editor and open LUA - Scene Script and on line 47 change the "mainmenu" to what ever scene you wish to load after the splash screens have finished been displayed.

sky.loadScene("Mainmenu");

Where to extract the files.
Extract the SplashscreenGUI.zip in your projects GUI folder.
Extract The Spashscreenscene.zip into your projects scenes directory.
