Hello, I'm CreativeOcclusion...I have been playing around with the free version...I like the engine so far...One problem that I have found is, I cannot find a way to extract animations from a combined animation...Is there a way to do this in the editor?...I have talked my wife into letting me buy the engine, but all my models are combined animations...It would take a lot of work to do this in Blender...I find no way of doing this in code in the API....The ability to separate and name the animations is important to me...

It is good to meet everyone here...Let me know about the animation thing so I will know if I will buy or not...Thanks
Thanks, CreativeOcclusion

Hi creativeocclusion welcome :) i took my tuts down today as i redone most of them due to getting new audio but they are uploading now and should be back on the forum within the next hour or so.

this is in fact easy to do with skyline so you wont be disappointed with the purchase.

I believe you get this with the free version as well but i think the free version is a bit out of date as there has been updates bug fixes and stuff added so not 100% sure.

the tuts are now up and the one you are looking for is under mesh editor that should point you in the right direction but if you need any more help just ask :D

Hi and Welcome to the Skyline Forums creativeocclusion :D I am happy that you like skyline.

The free version of skyline does allow you to split animations using the mesh editor using the timeline. (i think our timeline only starts having issues when you pass into multiple thousands of frames to split, also the animations need to be 1 key frame per frame as this may mess animation frame numbers up).

Our goal with the free version was too provide an engine that had all the features of the purchased minus a few limited number of features that could act as a trial version with no limitations in order to purchase the engine.

Tattie's video are very good and will be helpful once they are back online.

If you find the animation splitter is not good enough for your animation splitting, then we can improve this feature as skyline is still in Beta.

Having trouble extracting the animations...shows up in mesh editor but not in model properties in scene...Seems that it is not saving the extraction...I am probably just doing it wrong...can't find much information on it....

hi m8 the tut for that is under mesh editor but here is the video to save you looking ;) i think what you have done is not reloaded the entity after extracting the frames.

Thanks...I believe it was the reload entity that I was missing...Still testing...

When I reload entity it dissappears...dragged in fbx and model is terribly twisted and mutilated...

hmm, should still be selectable from the hierarchy panel, then zoom out perhaps its either to big in scale, or below the terrain somehow?. possibly something else perhaps there was a setting set to invisible also?. though im sure you probably looked into these already, sorry all I can think of right now.
