Spending some time away

Spending some time away

Postby AuShadow » 19 Apr 2015, 06:35

Hey guys, all you on steam who have friended me will see me spending some time in "that other engine" for a little a while, Not going back but just using it to quickly prototype a game idea I have in mind, want to quickly smash(very quickly will still take a few weeks at least) out a one level demo to see if I am going to like what i want to build, definately not going to be a short project but a rather ambitious one and hopefully comes out good enough because I cant wait to start making it in Skyline, just need to iron out a few things first. Once done I will be posting up the trial level here to get feed back and then will be in full skyline mode after that :D

Lol yeah but just for fleshing out a basic idea it should work for me, don't get me wrong but, after the proto build I will migrate everything to Skyline and the real work will begin then, will have to make all the assets, weapons and characters as Guru's are not that good and no where near what I have visioned for this. Want to get a solid base to build this game off and then possibly try to recruit someone else and build it as a 2 or even 3 man team but not going to ask for help until I have solid foundation to build on, at the moment I have scribbled down 5 pages of a game plan but before I seek assistance it will be a very thorough plan indeed :D

cool, when you come back. Let us know what features you will need for the game and we will try and add them in if they are not already. Bearing in mind, certain tasks are priority over others. :)

Not that it really matters, but I think you and AuShadow are referring to different engines.

wanted to share a little bit of this project, am making some progress on it, still a long way from moving it to skyline however as last couple of weeks have only had 30 mins dev time on it, with that said the demo will lack alot of what will go into the skyline version but it is helping me smooth out the rough edges of my idea, Not giving away the main twist in this idea, although i have told some members of it already :D. But hopefully it will end up being something that skyline will be proud to show, anyway little screenie, and more info can be found on a blog i started specifically for his project here:

Shame as you can now be a zombie in skyline fully controllable as the player

Hey guys, just thought I would mention that I am fully moving to skyline way before I intended as I could see I was going to have to remake everything anyway so may as well dump what I had and work in skyline from the go, ATM setting up a file structure and getting some basic assets made but hopefully get a projects thread up with some screen grabs in the not too distant future

Yeah and I can't wait to get a small demo area done in Skyline. Hoping the demo to include the following:
Quick video Intro
Starting area semi complete
1st quest in and completable
Simple enemy AI

Might include the following
Hunger system
Vendor system (weapons, health, food)
Character Leveling System

But all this is speculation, still have to find the time and make the assets

Nice AuShadow :) To have a full completed project in skyline would be great motivation for a lot of other users :)
