https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00MVYZ5CQ/ ... Q8931Z#Ask

nice, i have wanted a gtx960 myself as our cards are out of date by a long way lol :P
We are running Gtx560ti and GTX460v2 lol :P

i7 processors are great, especially for compiling code as all 8 cores get used completely.
The PC you are getting is like ours apart from we have 3rd gen i7 and the older gpu's.
It should run skyline very well lol :P

I see, I did plan on getting a 2nd 1 of these comps a few more weeks down the line or sooner if possible, just for gaming with my buddy when he comes round like.. as my other slightly worse but newer pc is just a office desktop with a evga gt 730 gpu added into it lol.

also I just got my delivery of win10 pro turn up :D.. ready for the new machine which comes without os installed.
not really sure what the difference is between home and pro tbh. but for £40 total I got the pro edition of win10 :)

the gpu in the new machine is a zotac, my current gpu is the evga gtx 750ti.
assuming I get a 2nd i7 exactly the same as the 1st from same ppl. maybe I can post you the evga gtx750 ti card for you guys to use?!. its only about a year old so maybe save you guys alittle money and help abit?. not to sure which is better over all out of the cards you guys use compared to the 1 I have now??.. but you would be welcome to the gtx 750 ti that would just be sitting about doing nothing :)

I don't know what those features all are for pro but.. 40 notes is cheap yeah, home edition was something like 70 quid so it was a no brainer for me to save money on pro from amazon.co.uk :)

thanks for the link :)

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00 ... _qh_dp_hza

found this pc for an extra £56 on top of the 1st I linked at making the topic here, so I'm going to get this slightly better pc Wednesday coming, assuming the sale is still on then :D.

if by chance the sale ends before next week though I will end up getting the other 1.

any thoughts on the newer found computer compared to the other 1?
advice welcome :)

GTX970 is much quicker than the 960. I am sure it would handle 1080p very well but not sure about 4k. Tattie might know more lol :P

yeah, but tattie is having housing remodelling done to his computer room and other stuff. not seen him about for a while now to ask. however I don't have 4k monitors so either way its not an issue like.
thanks for the info though m8 :) hopefully this 2nd pc is on sale still by Wednesday so I can get it :)

so after a week or so my i7 packed up working and was refunded... sooo disappointed lol..

new machine arrives today sometime after 1pm, its not an i7 though this time just a cheap gaming machine with amd cpu.

AMD A8 7650K Quad Core @ 4.00GHz, Radeon R7, 16GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM 1tb hdd, will upgrade the graphics next week to either a NVidia 960gtx or go to a 1060gtx. going to be running win 10 pro with the machine 64bit of course. so will give some new stats of fps with skyline in the next couple of weeks :)

awesome! Look forward to seeing some results with modern GPU.
Just remember that with Gen2, the performance boost is 3x to 16x :)

Bought a GTX 1060 last week, and I'm really happy with it. Nice to go through my Steam library and play my old games with the graphics turned up to ultra.

Re: new pc plans

Postby lordalmighty1 » 23 Sep 2016, 19:16

well my gtx 1060 turned up at 945am today. spent sometime sorting things out and ran into a problem...

the new pc psu didn't provide a 6pin power connector for a dedicated gpu ;/ rather annoyed by this event..
lucky for me I guess, that my older quad core does have a 6pin power connector so the gtx 1060 is in the older machine, and the gtx750ti is In the newer machine disappointing to a degree but at least I can use both machines for gaming and development though I would have preferred the newer machine to use the new gpu I can live with it the way it is.

got to reinstall a few things as updating some drivers for the 750ti coursed a issue with the new machine that I don't really understand tbh. will have to look into it or get the newest driver from NVidia site or something. quite a day of problems but for now both machines are working with gpu's in them lol.

my older machine with a fx4100 was tested with skyline, on a 10k blank map I was getting around 1000 fps.
my newer machine with 750ti is unknown fps wise for now though will update my sig with the results soon and keep you all posted on it here aswell.

have you got one of these:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Trueway-Expres ... B008AS7660
Edit: This was only a reference link for the 2x4pin to 6pin fix. There are a lot of them out there lol, so take your pick hehe :P

This is what i have used to get an extra 6pin connector to my current card which requires 2 6 pins lol.

1000fps..... mindblown :P

Hope this helps :D

its not quite the 1250 I was getting with a i7 and a gtx970 but its good enough for the age of the machine and gen1 skyline I think..
when gen2 hits I hope for a bit more of course fps wise but if not that's fine lol.

thanks for the link but I doubt I will go through the trouble of changing them out anytime soon spent best part of the day doing stuff with them both today so.
