With Skyline moving Quickly towards a full public alpha release, plenty of changes, updates and fixes.

  • New: Presets - Presets can be dragged and dropped into the scene.
  • New: Editor - Objects can be placed on the terrain when adding from presets.
  • Update :Terrain - Terrain Height value now returns after saving.
  • Update: Terrain - Terrain Editor creation panel changes.
  • Fixed: Terrain - Loading a Heightmap does not throw any messages apart from are you sure?
  • New: Scene management - system providing a deep folder structure with individual folder delete, rename and drag n drop moving of folders. These folders have no properties and are only for organising your in world assets.
  • Update: Terrain - When Loading a heightmap image, it will use the same textures from the previous terrain, in case you changed them to your own.
  • Update: Terrain - Terrain Base Textures have been updated
  • Update: Terrain - Terrain material update button for refreshing the terrain after adding hydrax or other depth buffer related additions.
  • No more Resources.cfg, any folder in the asset library or data folder is recognised.
  • If Terrain Textures do not exist when loading your scene, then a message box will appear telling which is missing and change to the default base texture for that layer.
  • Skyline can now use more than 1.4gb of ram, but only to 3-4gb as it is still 32bit.
  • Updated: Terrain Brush Images can now be 512 images instead of 128. Larger Brushes when Editing give better looks.
  • Fixed: terrain now resets to a flat terrain after the new scene button has been pressed
  • Fixed: Terrain Billboard Crash Catches Implemented, does not crash if material isn't found or Color map isn't found
  • Fixed: Press the Remove Vegetation button with no vegetation added
  • Fixed: Rename a folder only if a folder exists.
  • Fixed: Delete a folder only if the folder exists.
  • Fixed: new folder is cancelled if the user exits the name panel
  • Log output tidied by removing extra unused lines.
  • Preset header shows correct library name on first load of a user preset library
  • Update :: Folders in Asset Library, Data and Project can be ignored by the resource adding procedure by using underscore '_' before folder name.
  • New: open dialogs will open to the last directory you worked in for different file types. e.g Models, materials, presets etc.. Store their own last location used Folder path.
  • Update: Action - Rotate sliders have greater control and rotate is more accurate
