Material Example Videos

Postby StarFire » 14 Mar 2015, 20:07

I have manage to get 2 videos ( non spoken  ) showing the material editor in use. One is to create a rock material and the other is showing off the reflections and other material editor features. Sorry about the low quality, had to reduce it or we would be waiting forever to get them uploaded, could have drawn them faster lol

Sorry there is no cursor, testing another video recording package and didn't see the ability to record the cursor. Resolved for next vid.

Quick example showing how to add a real time reflective surface to an object using the actions.

The reflection param is a cubemap rather than a scene reflection. It is a smoke and mirror way to create a fast illusion of a reflection, especially if you choose the correct cubemap. The reflected image is set in the image next to the reflection sliders, this image is a cube map texture. We are looking to implement a way to get a simple reflection probe to add its output to the material for true reflections.
