Turn shadows off

Turn shadows off

Postby TattieBoJangle » 12 Sep 2015, 21:57

Do you think it would be possible to control the shadows via the material system for example say a model has 4 textures

Brick, Stone, Wood, Glass

Would be nice to have the option to turn them off individually so say windows use glass you can turn the shadows off for that on the same model if you get what I mean.

Also it comes up often where some parts of a model shouldn't have/give shadow but the only way just now is turning it all off.

It could be an option that is added to the uber shader that does not include the shadow receiver code, but this is Starfire's domain so maybe she can answer more when she next checks the forums :)

There is a bit of shader code that can set the shadow map size per material but not activated yet I could also add the receive shadows option. ;)
