When we first made the main website we used buddy press which had a live chat but we remove buddy press in favor of the phpBB forum. I will have a look if this system has a chat module otherwise we would have to look at looking for a standalone chat system.
Just had a quick look and there does seem to be a few options, we will have a look and see what size job this could be ; )
