Visual Mechanics Editor - User Information

Visual Mechanics Editor - User Information

The visual mechanics system is very simple to use but saying this it would be helpful if you knew how to do the basics.

Here is a quick and rough video showing how to use the system:

You have 2 main graphs. Scenegraph and action based Micrographs. These work independently of each other as in the way you use scripts. Both of these systems are edited by the modules graph editor.
SceneGraph: To open the current scenegraph use the toolbar button shown in the video. If you are in an open graph editor you can reopen the scenegraph from the menu. Before closing the editor ensure you have saved the edited scenegraph.

MicroGraph: This is accessed by the action system. Open the micrograph by using the action edit button. To save back to the micrograph use the graph editors "micro: save" option. Once edited a micrograph stops using any external file (if you initially chose one) and saves back to the objects data. this way it will become unique similar to a microscript.

Modules: There are many module categories similar to the lua libraries. There are two many types of module:
Event - This connects with Red wires and represents the power line. An event is a signal sent in response to something either a user input or system communication ( collisions, sensor etc) Most modules need an event to make it do its thing.

Variable - This a the food for the module and is represented by the Blue wires. Modules need values or text strings to pass information such as which object, how many times to do something. Text, In, Float, Bool are examples of variable modules.

The are so many modules still to develop yet but we wanted to get the first version out asap to you guys. Also there are a few hiccups in the first release but these will be resolved in new auto updates.
Noted bug: when working on a micrograph and pressing play the editor graph switches and displays the current scenegraph. This is a bug as it should stay on the current micrograph. We will get a fix out to you in the next few days now we have the new version patch option. ;)

Its a very powerful system and will only get better as more modules are added to the engine.
If you need any modules, then please request them on the forums :)
