skyGraph Usability

skyGraph Usability

Postby Shando » 23 Jan 2017, 23:09

Hi all,

Just been playing with skyGraph and can't seem to find a way to get back to the main graph once I've double-clicked on a "Container" except by reloading it from the "File" menu??

Also, is it possible to add the ability to resize the modules as sometimes the text doesn't fit (as an example see the "Counter Example.skyGraph" where most of the text on the RHS of the container is truncated)??

Plus, is it possible to create new folder(s) for user-created modules in the Custom tab?? Either a "User" folder, or the ability for users to add their own folders which are picked up automatically by Skyline??

Finally, is it possible to include the ability to add notes or help text to modules so that users can right-click (or some sort of popup) to display details of how to use it??

Apart from that, the system looks pretty good and relatively easy to use ;)

Regards

Hi Shando,
I will try to help :)

1) To get back to root level, just double click on empty space.

2) No, not yet but is something we will be adding.

3) I thought it did do that or didnt get developed far enough. If you go to the "Asset Library\SkyGraph\Modules", and create folders in there > reboot, they should appear on one of the tabs. You can then load the module from there.
Also, if you place an image in the folder with the name of the module, then it will be displayed in the panel.
or it needs to be placed in the "Data\SkyGraph\Modules" folder.
I need to play around with this again as i cant remember what worked and what didnt.

4) No, not yet... perhaps this can be useful.

Glad your enjoying the system and yeah, i would say it is easy to use aswell :D

Hope this helps :D

Hi SP,

Thanks for the reply.

1) Ahhhh, didn't try that ;)
2) :D
3) my bad, it does work - I didn't reboot Skyline, just re-opened the Editor
4) I think it would be useful especially if users start creating their own and sharing via the Store (or otherwise)
