Gizmo issue

Gizmo issue

Postby SpiderMack » 06 Oct 2017, 13:34

Hi,

When move some object using 3D gizmo , if i choose two axis like move X/Y , it moves ok with mouse movement on X axis, but it is always slower and somewhat clamped on Y axis.
It's really annoying when doing level design

It all depends on the camera angle you are looking at.

e.g. if you look top down and use the x/z panel, then it will move equal :)

I find using the ALT + mouse move to orbit around to get the best angle to move and position the object. Also if you move the object whilst holding alt then the camera will pan with the object, get for level designing. Personally I find it a very fast method ;)

I would expect the more i move the mouse , the more it moves on Z or Y, the same proportion it moves good on X axis.
It's a downside as many times, i am not using top down or orbit, but any view and i ,eed to be able to move proportionnaly on X/Y with mouse like 3D scultping or modeler software are doing.

It's really disturbing and annoying to not have that uniform movement in a 3D engine :(
At least make some option to let people choose traditionnal standard uniform X/Y movement, or the very special Skyline one

(Like quick front , side views and orthogonal perspective are really missing when you big level design)
