3DConnexion SpaceMouse Support?

Hello!

I'm just curious whether Skyline (v2) will have support for the 3DConnexion SpaceMouse?

It's a nice way to move about in 3D space. I've just got mine and I've been using it in Unreal, so it's not just something to use with CAD (my main use for it is 3D sculpting in both Blender and ZBrush).

I want to know too, i have one now for years. Using it for Blender and Google earth.
Its nice to have, but something for some time later on, i think.

If you have ZBrush, make sure you get the latest update (2021.5.1). It now has full support for the SpaceMouse and it's great!

hey, would be great to add support but without owning one, it will be difficult to map properly, but i imagine it would activate the same buttons and configurations as a keyboard, so once we have a key mapper, it would be a good test to see if it would map anything or not..

From what I can tell, that's not how these work. You can't just map keyboard configurations to it. It's sort of it's own thing.

There's a GitHub project for this device for Unreal (https://github.com/microdee/UE4-SpaceMouse). Would that help (as the code would be available)? I own a SpaceMouse, so I would be willing to test.

In any case, this is certainly not a priority in any way, shape, or form. I just love being able to zoom around a scene with the device and it does make it easier to move where you want and work in those areas.

interesting, we will keep it in mind as we agree its not an important feature, but would be good to support more hardware in the end.
