GDPR IS COMING. ARE YOU READY?
New rules. More regulations. And potential fines of up to €20million.
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into force in May 2018.
It will affect every business.
You need to be ready.
WHAT IS GDPR?
It is a reform of the privacy laws. Its aim is to protect the rights of individuals and provide a unified privacy policy throughout Europe. It replaces the Data Protection Act (DPA).
GDPR is far more wide-ranging than DPA. The new regulations apply to every business regardless of size.

WHAT’S DIFFERENT?
GDPR very much targets consent. Organisations must also be able to prove the customer gave permission to use their data. They must be absolutely certain what they are signing up for.
Individuals must also be able to easily opt out.
Data protection is also a huge part of GDPR.
It is essential to encrypt and protect your customers’ data. Failure to do so could be in contravention of the new regulations. And that could be very expensive.
