support for the FBX [Fully Supported]

support for the FBX [Fully Supported]

at the moment I am working with Leadwerks Engine. This is a good engine, but it's annoying that you need to convert the model in the format of GMF. This repelled many beginners.
I'd like to see in this engine everything was simpler. All 3D editors support FBX

well hmm, FBX hmm, i don't know if it is good idea right now, because there is more important things to do at the moment. The exporter is pretty good as is. I already posted request about Assimp open import library , which has all kind of formats supported. I don't know how difficult would be to add fbx .

Yes this would be a cool feature ( good idea supporting fbx ) but I think we can make it a lower priority for now until we get some of the more important issues resolved as Ellement mentioned. We will look at adding various importing formats including fbx at a later time, I have added it to our feature to-do list but as low priority ; )

no need to do it immediately, it is not so important. The main thing now I know that it will be in the future. Thank you!

Surely if we have Assimp then all bases are already covered.

yes, except for assimp does not use FBX, it must be a licensing issue with autodesk.
i am looking at alternatives. :)

lol, we haven't updated the thread, sorry. We now have full support of FBX. Simply drag it from explorer into the scene viewport or use the asset manager. Also it handles animations brilliantly and works 95% of the time.

Feel free to try again. ;)

Edit: To get the FBX displaying in the asset manager, activate the "Misc Mesh" in the filters.

Here is an image of the FBX files inside the Asset manager.

We also support a full folder batch convert, with a built in scale increase/decrease over the entire folder, this can be accessed by right clicking on the folder in the side list.
