Just found out that Simplygon are doing a free cloud based optimising service where you can get your models polly reduced etc for game ready use.

Just given it a try and it does what it says on the tin lol Good polly reduction and it is free! :D
I think with an hour per month you will be able to get lots of models as it only takes a few seconds to convert.

The cloud uses a desktop application to do the work which is then uploaded to process. Time will tel,l but once I get some usable results we will post it. Hope the workflow will work with animated characters so we can reduce the poser meshes ;)

Meshlab look a bit old, Cruncher looks great but is only in unity from what I can see :(

yea not sure why it says that i will do a video for you guys to see how it does a model pack in seconds and also makes lods out of a single mesh

Ok as you can see it batch converts a model pack lowers the poly and also makes lod stages you can set it to however many stages you want ;)

oh right, definitely a tool worth looking at.
On the website, what it promotes that it does seems very good, especially keeping the original shape to the best it can.
