Menu System

Menu System

Postby TattieBoJangle » 22 Apr 2015, 15:52

So i was working on a menu system for skyline a while back but i lost it so i was going to do another one if users want it the idea is to make it super easy for users to make there own menu in seconds there is a video below to show you.

I will only make it if users want it no point wasting my time if no one wants it ;)

lol any way to make menus quicker and easier would be great as we don't have a time yet planned for upgrading the UI editor. All the focus is on resources and mechanics ;)

It is more or less ready to be released m8 just waiting on the team getting back to me on a way i can use the settings.ini because as it stands it saves the users display driver in the settings.

This means anyone other than you the options wont work i was hoping they would sort it where the Render Device would be genetic like display adapter or even if the settings where in a separate ini not sure how they would do it but it would also solve the need to del that file anytime you want to give out your game.

It would be good to have this done as then we can use our own settings ect.

@Tattie, yes i remember lol. I think leaving a setting with which monitor is being used and removing the GFX card or at least make an optional parameter as some people use 2 seperate gfx cards that run each monitor.
I will try and fit this in for the next release as it would allow you to complete this cool menu project.

Again, sorry for the long response time.

No problem at all m8 i believe the fastest way would be to have a separate ini for the graphic settings leaving the adapter in its own, the only way i cant use it just now is due to it copying the ini file with he changed settings to the folder overwriting it but the display driver comes with it.

Here you go guys it works but its rough as its unfinished, its 100mb due to it having a demo scene/game to show users where the game files should go 15mb without the game that includes the startup video. The menu system will work on any software/game as long as the .exe you place in the game folder is named Game.exe, there is a read me in the docs folder if anyone gets stuck but more or less its just drag and drop files :)

This one is the same as above but a trial, it will let the end users run the game 10x or less if you want handy for demos ect its only 18mb as it has the demo scene removed to save you downloading it again :) this will work for any .exe you place in the folder.
