player controller, sprint?

player controller, sprint?

Postby lordalmighty1 » 19 May 2016, 17:24

hi guys,
I added the player controller to the default fp character with the new gun etc. changed the walk and run speed but shift isn't running anymore? I know it used to run faster I used it to look around my maps quicker but now its just a walk speed only?!.
any clues to this please? I set walk to 4, and run to 10 but no difference..
I also noticed there is no run key in the key binds but is a for going prone etc which also didn't do anything like.

thanks :)

In the image above at the top left of the MicroGraph...You see the Run and Walk variables in blue boxes...Try the Walk at 20.0000 and the Run at 100.0000...Then adjust them to the speed you like...I hope this helps...

Remove the Player Controller....

You can't add a Player Controller to the Module based FPS. well.. you can, but it won't do anything apart from much stuff up lol :P

To adjust the run speed, open the graph from the action on the new FPS and look for this property:

we are planning on adding Dynamic Properties to the modules so they would be edited similar to the AI scripts that uses the second icon on the Property panel. This is the end goal lol :P But for now, just edit the modules.

yeah I have m8 :). sprint is now working after deleting the PhysX controller group.
also I have walk set to 40 and sprint set to 100 in the fancy module scripting thingy lol. works a treat like this :D..

currently working on a terrain map, thinking it could be uploaded and used as a guideline for fps of other machines when you guys are ready for steam greenlight or something.. few tweaks to oceans and everything else I need to figure out but its a 2k by 2k map mostly mountains and plains right now, with ocean surrounding a group of islands. currently running at around 250-315 fps depending on view point right now but only a player on the map after terrain painting and sculpting so far. gonna add trees from the default engine (palms) and grass, then workout how to add a spline path for a camera fly around for a video scene to help with the vids you might want or need for advertising purposes etc. if you guys are interested when that comes up lol. :)

thanks again for the help though oc/sp!!.

cool, all videos/demo's/levels welcome. Once Steamworks is created, we might even have a direct download for community related games etc...

Also, no problem. we are all happy to help :D

Obs screen recorder. You have to use vlc to view but youtube is fine with them.
