Animation tips?

Animation tips?

Postby epsilonion » 15 Sep 2015, 13:58

Had my first go at animating a character last night, my goal was to get a char stood up from been laid down on a bed, so when in game when you have attached a camera you see the legs and arms moving before you take control.

Well my first, 2nd, 3rd - 10th tries where not to successful I ended up with twisted stomach, got to the sat position and could not get the rest of the body stood up lol...

in the end I just went to bed, does any of you out there have any tips for a newb at animating?

watch tutorials on youtube or something and copy to follow, you end up learning the tricks as you go.
Animating is handled differently across all software but has a general workflow you can stick to.

Try animating something similar like a character waving so you only have to deal with 1 set of limbs lol :P Animating full body is quite complex.

My procedure used to be: open youtube, search for tutorial, copy and learn, then do your own. Seems to have worked quite well, even in that tutorial you posted the other day with the weapon, i picked up some new techniques that will help when animating.

antON, might have some information :)

Good luck :D
